“At what cost?” is a fundamental question. A Pyrrhic victory is no victory at all.

It took 15 rounds of voting to elect Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House, but just a few hours to throw him out. This is, unironically, a healthy system.

Recalling a politician should be much easier than electing a politician. Revoking legislation should be much easier than passing legislation.

Robert:

Asymmetric information is one of mankind’s biggest issues. A party with significantly more information about a deal’s object is incentivised to rip off the other. Dentists, real-estate agents, and technicians do this quite often.

Occultism is simply an extreme level of informational asymmetry. Hide the truth about solar cycles, and claim “climate change” for your own profit!

Do your own research and share what you find.

Robert:

Jail is an issue only to aging mortals. It’s a FOMO maximiser: having to spend X% of life under stern conditions means losing a meaningful part of the limited time available to live.

If humans didn’t age and die, any jail time would tend to zero as a percentage of life spent. It would no longer be an issue.

Practical deathlessness will lead to rethinking the punishments given for crimes. Murder would become an even more serious crime, as folk would be dying very seldomly.
