In Monaco, everything smells amazing: the trees outdoors and perfumes indoors.

Also, strangers greet each other when entering and exiting the elevator. Everyone has true respect for one another.

But sadly not all elevators have good typography. The 8 looks too much like a B, and the D looks too much like a zero:

First of all, the euphoric smell is still there. I didn’t find it as common as in 2020 and before, but it does come from the Tube and it also came from a bus. May it stay.

The industrial smell of London

The industrial smell of London brings me a kind of euphoria that I don’t feel in any other circumstance.

Outside of London, I sense this smell only a couple of times per year for no more than a minute.

Good vibrations in unlikely circumstances

I fondly remember having uniquely good vibrations in two unlikely circumstances of the recent past:

living in an Italian-language field school just before the first lockdown, with air filled by the smell of a certain soap;
feeling that January 6th and the crypto bull-run were about to upgrade the world, with ears tuned to eighties’ disco.

What I love about flying

When boarding a plane, one smells burning fuel, a smell unmatched by any other.

Taking off, acceleration and turbulence make for a fun rollercoaster ride. At the same time, it’s worthy to marvel at the view that no satellite photo can match:

Netflix’s interface is excellent: when starting watching a new season, it gives me a recap of the previous one.

Oh, and best of all, Netflix lets me skip the useless intros of movies and series.

Saturday, June 20

One of my favorite things about the UK is the unique scent of bread coming from bakeries. It goes along fantastically with the industrial smell of London.
